With a very open brief we were able to present a selection of diverse ideas. In the end, the client chose our own favourite option – “Hammertime”. We felt the story of this simple tool – which has a life of its own and the power to magically transform objects – made a perfect fit to the core features of Forge of Empires. Because of its simplicity the concept will also provide the ideal starting point for other films in the future.
Working on game trailers always requires a mix of in-game assets and objects created by our own team of artists. We are used to polishing in-game assets so they can seamlessly fit into our high-quality CG videos. This time however we had particular fun bringing Innobert to life, even though we hit him with a hammer at the end. Sorry Bert.
